I’d Like to be the Most Learned
A bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): “I’d like to be the most learned of men.” The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) replied: “Fear God, and you will be the most learned of men.” [Related by Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal]
Nobody can teach what Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) can teach. Nobody knows what He Alone knows. After trying for millennia we are only beginning to discover the size of the universe. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) made the universe and the laws that govern it. After trying for millennia we are beginning to discover the basics of how our bodies work. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) invented the molecules and put them together in precise order.
And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
There’s another world out there beyond the universe that we could never have known about had Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) not told us about it. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is the wellspring of all knowledge.
The greatest knowledge is to realize this and be in awe of The Most Awesome Being.
